On the night of March 4th, 1978 a Funk-Rock-Soul-Band called Mothers’s Finest entered the stage of the Gruga Halle in Essen, Germany, and a thirty year old singer, Joyce Kennedy, took the microphone and began to sing. ›Baby Love‹ was the song that transfixed the young audience the most. It was the beginning of Mother’s Finest fame. On May 17th, 2020 Mother’s Finest will be playing again at the Blues Garage. Rachel Ann Morgan, not to be confused with the mezzo-soprano and harpist of the same name, sings ›Baby Love‹ with the same intensity as Joyce Kennedy. She is one of two vocalists of the Ron Holloway Band. Perhaps some day this fine band will show up on stage at the Blues Garage. (A girl can dream, can she?). Happy new year, everyone!
